What are shaped wires?
Shaped Wire products are unique in that they are available in near net shapes and specific profiles that can be symmetrical or not. Standard industrial shaped wires for filtration and liquid solid separation, as well as unique custom developed profiles, are available in a variety of metals such as carbon steel, stainless steels, nickel alloys, titanium, and more. A sequence of rolling and annealing techniques are used to shape wire from a circular wire. Larger cross sections can be drawn to size using a die. Gibbs' custom profile wire provides a near-net product with fewer extra processes by offering a prepared shape that is close to, or exactly matches, the completed dimensional requirements.
The conventional industry sizes for wedge wire and screen wire, utilized for filtering, walkways, and liquid/solid separation, are wide, as are the custom shaped wire and profile wire possibilities. The chemical, pulp and paper, oil and gas, water filtration, hatchery filtration, screen manufacturers, and architectural walkway industries all use wedge and screen wire. All shaped wire comes in continuous coils or can be cut to precise lengths.
Standard shaped wire is supplied in round, square, and flatwire products from on-site tooling. Flat wire goods might have square, rolled rounded, natural round, or fully blended round edges on their edges. Lighting applications, standard toothbrush wire, electronic connectors, sealing wire, and electrical leads are all examples of standard shaped wire applications.

limited by your designers' imaginations, in addition to typical wire shapes
like round, square, and flat wire goods. The following special wire forms are

Farm fencing and plant supports are
commonly made of hot dipped galvanized oval wires. In petroleum filtration,
triangle and shaped wires are critical components of wedge wire screens. Wires
that are half-round, square wires, flat, and other irregular shapes are
used to create decorative meshes for construction. In the orthodontics system,
square and rectangular wire provide minor friction with brackets. In the
electric power industry, flat wires and shaped wires provide shielding
and protective armour for cables.
Round wires or steel plates are used
to create the unusual shaped wires. For various uses, the raw materials are
drawn into various shapes and sizes. Shaped wires provide increased
strength and compatibility to equipment or devices in certain applications. In
